HOW TO PLANT MICROGREENS FENNEL
Planting microgreen fennel is simple and perfect for brightening up the Winter months. Start by preparing your shallow tray or felt pot container with moist compost, smoothing the surface gently. Scatter the fennel seeds evenly across the top, microgreens don’t need spacing and a dense sowing will give you a full, vibrant tray of growth. Press the seeds lightly into the compost and cover with only the thinnest sprinkle of soil, just enough to hide them. Mist well to settle everything in, keeping the compost consistently moist but never waterlogged.
Place your tray in a warm, bright spot such as a sunny windowsill, giving the seeds the consistent light they need during the darker winter days. In just 3-5 days you’ll spot the first signs of germination, followed by rapid leafy growth. Once your microgreens reach around 5-7 cm tall, typically within 10-14 days, they’re ready to harvest. Simply snip them just above the soil line, rinse and enjoy immediately for the freshest burst of sweet, aromatic fennel flavour.
