HOW TO GROW BASIL
Start basil indoors in March, as it loves warmth. Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist compost and cover lightly. Keep in a warm, bright spot (around 20°C). Germination usually takes 7–14 days.
Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots. Pinch out the growing tips once plants reach around 10–15cm tall to encourage bushy growth.
Keep basil on a sunny windowsill or in a greenhouse until temperatures reliably warm. Harvest regularly to keep plants productive and full.
