Step 1 – Sow Those Seeds (MAR - JULY)

Soak seeds in lukewarm water for 6–12 hours before sowing to speed up germination. Sow 4cm deep, spacing seeds about 5cm apart. For containers, follow the same spacing in a wide, deep pot with good drainage. Keep soil moist and choose a sunny, sheltered spot. Germination takes 1–2 weeks.

STEP 2 - WATCH THEM GROW

Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist but avoid waterlogging. Once flowers appear, feed every 2–3 weeks with Seed Folk fertiliser or a high-potassium liquid fertiliser. Protect young plants from slugs, snails, and pigeons with netting or cloches if needed.

STEP 3 - KEEP THEM GROWING

This dwarf variety often supports itself, but in windy or exposed areas, add a few small twigs or canes to keep plants steady. Pick peas regularly — the more you harvest, the more the plant produces.

STEP 4 - HARVEST TIME

For tender, edible pods, pick when about 6cm long and still flat. For sweeter, plumper peas, wait until pods swell. Use scissors to snip rather than pulling to avoid damaging the plant.

Top Tip: Sow a new batch every 2–3 weeks through the season for a continuous supply of fresh peas.
