Step 1 – Sow Those Seeds (MAR - SEPT)

Sow seeds 1cm deep, spacing 3–5cm apart. Choose a sunny spot in spring/autumn or a part-shaded spot in high summer. Germination takes 7–10 days.

STEP 2 - WATCH THEM GROW

Thin seedlings to about 5cm apart so each root has space to swell. The thinnings are edible — toss the young leaves into salads. Keep soil consistently moist, as dry conditions can make radishes woody or overly spicy.

STEP 3 - KEEP THEM GROWING

Water regularly and cover the tops with soil if they start to push above the surface, as exposed roots can turn green and bitter.

STEP 4 - HARVEST TIME

Ready in as little as 4 weeks! Pull when roots are golf-ball size for the best flavour. Don’t leave them too long in the soil, or they’ll become tough and inedible.

Top Tip: Sow little and often (every 2–3 weeks) for a continuous supply of fresh radishes.
